Presentation of the gallery

Founded in Paris in 2005, DILECTA is a publishing house and gallery specializing in contemporary art. It publishes about twenty projects per year, alone or in partnership with galleries, museums or private foundations. On the one hand, publications (artists' books, exhibition catalogues, monographs); on the other hand, limited edition works (prints, multiples), series or unique pieces, which give rise to the organization of exhibitions in its dedicated space.

The gallery, which opened in 2015, hosts four to five exhibitions a year. Some, collective, and sometimes at the invitation of curators, come to testify to the diversity of the artists' projects present in our catalogue and make them dialogue with external loans; Others aim to defend the work of artists to whom we feel close because of their approach, the subjects they tackle, the medium or medium they favor. In recent years, our attention has been more focused on the promotion of artists who express themselves through works on paper, such as Mircea Cantor, Nicolas Dhervillers, Alice Gauthier, Mathilde Lestiboudois or Eva Medin. We are committed to continuing to work in this direction to continue our support for graphic design.

Presentation of the artist in focus

Our focus will be on the work of Caroline Corbasson, and her research around the ambivalent nature of knowledge and the way in which scientific discoveries have renewed our understanding of the world. The corpus presented will consist of charcoal drawings and vinyl inks on paper, and will unfold like a cartography of celestial bodies in motion, between infinitely small and infinitely large. Echoing this, Alice Gauthier's work will take a more grounded look at the earth, offering a dialogue between geology and the cosmos through vibrant imaginary landscapes. Finally, Marco Perego's graphite work will take us into an introspective universe, creating dreamlike allegories of our inner beings.
